Gary loves his nearly 20 years a paramedic, educator and preceptor, but his biggest EMS passion is special event first aid and medical care. Whether standing next to the floor of a cheer/dance competition or next to the Grateful Dead stage Gary has learned, “if it can happen, it will happen.” Never Panic! With a little preparation and “bring an umbrella in case” attitude event planners and gym owners alike can confidently and competently respond to likely situations (and a few unlikely ones).
Gary’s non-EMS uniform comes from Brooks Brothers (outlet!) as Counsel for a Fortune 100 telecom company. Whether roaming halls of state capitols or teaching CPR, his favorite role is sharing what he believes can help others.
Gary lives in Fairfax, VA with wife Jessica (the actual Dr. Horewitz), a sports & environmental economist. Gary successfully negotiates with policy makers and corporations, but his 9 and 6 year-old daughters often usually outsmart him. Both would love to stunt from the top of the formation while Dad nervously watches…ice pack and backboard in hand. |
